AW18 Trends & Wishlist

I'm off on my summer holibobs on Wednesday, but there's still at least 30% of me that cannot wait to be in the full autumnal swing. I've seen so many beautiful outfits on Instagram already that it inspired me to hunt out the trends of the season along with my favourite pieces for each that, if I weren't on a student budget and had all the money in the world, I'd snap up in no time!

Checks, Tweed and Tartan
Every year I feel checks come into the Autumn/Winter outfits, but this year I'm so ready for the tweed pinafores, checked trousers and tartan scarves. One of the easiest patterns to introduce into your wardrobe, so have a browse of some of the best pieces around below!

Rust, Burnt Orange and Yellows
I love Autumn, largely because of the Autumnal colours and every year I love wearing clothes that match the leaves. Pass me all of the rust coloured items...

Vintage Blouses
Flattering, comfortable but still super feminine... I'm super excited about this trend! We saw this throughout the summer, too, but I honestly think a flouncy, long sleeved, button down blouses paired with a pair of check trousers or a leopard print midi skirt will be seen a tonne.

Chunky Knits
I'm so excited to be back in sweaters and jumpers. I'm excited for turtle necks, thin sweaters to pair with cute skirts (like this beautiful cord one from Next) but also for the chunky big-ass knits to just throw on with my pair of trusted Levi's and trainers/boots for an easy but relatively stylish outfit for lectures.

Animal Print
The big one, me thinks? Animal print is EVERYWHERE. Be it accessories, shoes, dresses, trousers, skirts - literally everything has been claimed by animal prints, especially Leopard print. I was a bit dubious about it (a little chavvy, I guess?), but oh man, the photos that are taking over my Instagram feed are something else! Getting your hands on the good stuff is a struggle already, but below are my favourites that are hopefully still in stock!

Midi Skirts
I have not stopped seeing silk (another key fabric for the season) wrap skirts or metallic pleated midis on instagram, and having done my research I've realised why - it's a hot trend for AW18 and is ideal for the transition period between summer and autumn. Below are my top picks.

What trend are you looking forward to the most? Let me know if you purchase any of the items I've listed or if you find anything else that would float my boat this Autumn/Winter!!
