Royal Visits and Summer Accessories

It's finally beginning to look like summer!

I was fortunate enough to go along to Buckingham Palace to receive my Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award on Wednesday - what better way to debut my new sunnies* I was kindly sent by contactlenses.co.uk?! Here's a sort of mini outfit of the day/review post hybrid for you, that (as always) is aiding my procrastination from revision... enjoy!

Accessories are definitely my favourite thing about fashion - I'm pretty sure I tell anyone and everyone this when they ask me. I love bags, shoes, hats (although I should try and wear them more often)...  you name it, however, what I love most about the summer months is the fact that you can see some of the most amazing sunglasses that just take a look from 'ok' to extremely chic. I thought it was about time I got some 'cooler' sunglasses for this summer and I was lucky enough to be contacted by contactlenses.co.uk to take my pick from their selection. I opted for the Mulberry Sunglasses in Tortoiseshell.*

I'd actually stumbled across their site beforehand when on the hunt for cheap contact lenses - and they sure do they deliver with prices - but I opted to go somewhere else due to the fact I needed them the next day. I will definitely bear them in mind next time (when I'm slightly more organised, although their delivery is still super speedy), as they have my daily lenses for almost £4 cheaper per box, so if you're a contacts wearer, I'd highly recommend at least having a peruse of their site.

The sunglasses are 400UV protection, so they're super protective and whilst they're £25, you may as spend a bit more to get decent sunglasses and to get some glowing complements about them! The site offers free UK delivery and stocks a large variety of sunglasses, contact lenses and also some make up and cosmetics so it's definitely worth checking it out!

The day at the palace was extremely memorable and something I'll hopefully never forget. Meeting the Earl of Wessex was certainly a highlight, but getting all dressed up certainly wasn't far behind - I've been living in 'comfy' clothes for the past few weeks (#studentlife), so wearing a dress and heels with the sun beaming down definitely brightened my week up! My dress is from Miss Selfridge (which is now £8.80 at the time of writing so if you want one for yourself, it's an absolute bargain!!!), my jacket is from George at Asda, whilst my earrings and shoes are both New Look and my necklace is my beloved Tiffany and Co one. I'm so glad the weather is brightening up!

I hope you've been enjoying the sun and for those of you also revising for exams - good luck! What's your favourite thing about the summer fashion trends? I'm loving stripes right now, too!

*Whilst I was lucky enough to receive these as a PR sample, all opinions are my own. I was not paid to write this post*
