The Make Up: Drugstore Back To School

How on earth is it September?! With the new month bringing the rain (typical!), it also means that it's time to head back to school... What better time to share my drugstore 'edit' as I realise recently I've been featuring more and more higher end products! Read on to discover my favourite items from the drugstore that create a effortless, quick and easy make up look, which would be ideal for school!

The Base
I know I go on and on and on about this Simple Light Moisturiser but I find that, even with a minimal skincare routine, this gives my skin the majority of the help it needs, plus it's always a good idea to start your base with moisturiser to help it to apply better and also helps the durability. I still love the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 hr Foundation, as it doesn't feel cakey but gives a relatively high coverage - I'd say this is perfect for days when you definitely have more spots than normal or want a little more help when it comes to evening out the skin tone... however often I'd just stick to concealer, and the Fit Me concealer by Maybelline has grown on me over the past couple of months, especially as it works well for my under eye area, too! To get a better overall look to my base, I love using a make up sponge, like the Real Techniques Miracle Sponge - or this similar one from Primark - as it just blends everything together much better than a brush.

The Face
A heavily contoured face is definitely not what I wanted to wear at school, but a slightly bronzed look is never a bad thing! I still love my coveted e.l.f. cosmetics studio bronzer compact in cool bronzer on a large fluffy brush and take in a 3 shape along my temples, across my cheek bones and under my jaw line. To top it off, I add a little flush of pink to the cheeks using the highly recommended Rommel lasting finish mono blush in 'live pink' which I know a lot of bloggers rave on about, but it truly is one of the best drugstore blushers around!

The Eyes
A lot of Rimmel products are featured in this post, but I promise this isn't sponsored, I just love the products... including their Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Sticks, including this one in 'bluffing' which is a gorgeous shimmery brown-purple! I often just use the e.l.f bronzer in the crease as their gorgeous matte shades, plus it makes it a lot easier and they blend well. A couple of coats of the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara and a sweep through the brows with the NYX coloured brow mascara and I'm good to go!

As you can probably tell a lot of these products are well loved (a lot of them date back to when I first started properly experimenting with make up and have remained firm favourites! I've been loving the bare lips look lately, so just pop on your favourite lip balm and you're done... Do you have any drugstore favourites? Have a great rest of your weekend, and good luck if you're heading back to school next week!
