The New Thing: Benefit Gimme Brow

When I saw the advert saying that the new Benefit brow products that I featured in my Wishlist post here were available to buy for one day only before their official 24th June release date, I couldn't resist... The new shade, the new packaging but the same beloved brow product drew me in! I thought I'd do a comparison post for you all of the new Gimme Brow in shade 3, medium, with its predecessor that I got about a year and half ago in their darkest shade.

The Packaging
It seems the new packaging is dividing the masses, but I'm pretty keen on it. I think it makes spending £18.50 on a brow product a little more exciting (yes, I'm that easily satisfied!). Also whilst the packaging is a little more 'spiky' it's also a little shorter and even more handy to pop in your handbag for any touch ups if necessary!
The Colour
I opted to try the new Medium shade as I find that the darker shade I had previously was a little too harsh for me, especially when I had my blonde dip dye! You can see in the swatches, too, that as well as being a little lighter, it's also a little warmer toned and so I have to admit the new colour is a winner for me!
The Formula
From what I can tell, not much has changed - I wore one on each brow for the day yesterday and found that both wore the same and both lasted the entire day without my brows really budging. I'm actually really happy they've seemingly left the formula alone and that one of my cult favourites is still as good as ever.

The Brush
This is one major difference I've noticed between the two. The brush is more tapered, smaller and as you can see from the photos, it's a lot less clogged with product, although I'm going to put that down to the fact that one's new and one's well loved! I do find, even with the new brush, that starting at the arch does get the best result as there is a fair amount of product on the brush that's makes the front of the brow seem a little less natural if you start there. The wand is also a little more flexible than the old one, although I'm not sure I'm sold on that being any improvement as I didn't find it was a hindrance before..

I realise that £18.50 is a lot for most, but I don't think I could live without this... I've tried cheaper alternatives but they just don't quite meet the same expectations! (I just laughed at myself writing that sentence...). Are you desperate to try any of the new Benefit products or are you in love with Gimme Brow as much as I am? I hope you have a lovely week and enjoy the hopefully sunny weather!
