January Favourites 2016

A whole month of 2016 is over and done with - madness - and you know what that means? A whole new post summing up the things I loved in January, because whilst there was a lot of horrible things (several famous deaths, particularly due to cancer) and the fact, well it was January, there were a few little perks!

BEAUTY
Yes, let's not bring up the fact that this makes me even more stereotypically from Essex, but this tan is my new favourite. Now that I've started dancing again, I've also started competing, which naturally means "become as dark as possible". This tan lasts, dries quickly - I can put my clothes almost instantly back on and don't have to worry about it coming off on them or on my bedding - and can actually quite natural, especially when I'm not aiming to become the colour of the dance floor! Plus, it's only £3 - no brainer.
The eye palette of the moment for me is certainly this one. Affordable, wonderful colours, amazing pigmentation and blends pretty darn well. Head over here for a more in depth review, but I just thought I'd let you know that I've reached for this almost everyday of January.
MUSIC
I had the pleasure of 'Dakota' over the Christmas holidays - first of all, what a babe - as she just happened to come into the shop I work in! I loved her speaking voice and when she told me she was releasing  this track (it had already been released in Australia), I couldn't help fall in love with her singing voice, too. One to watch? Definitely.

Zayn - Pillowtalk

Guilty pleasure and a half?! Absolutely. Don't judge, but Zayn's new single - Pillowtalk - has been on repeat on my Spotify and I can't even deny how much I like it. Oops.

FASHION
Grey Suede Boots - M&S
Whilst they may be the loudest pair of shoes I own, these have been on my feet for the majority of January. Warm and comfortable make their practicality second to none, but I also find that they just sometimes make a 'boring' outfit have a bit more of that summin-summin! See them in action in my latest OOTD post here or here...

TV
The one thing that I've been attempting to keep up to date with at university this month is certainly this. Can first of all address David Caves, who plays Jack and is oddly attractive, but also the amazing actress that is Emilia Fox. The plots just carry on improving and I like the fact they've become a lot more topical... huge TV series recommendation from me.

FOOD

Homemade Sweet Potato Fries
Possibly one of the best things I've discovered since coming to uni and having to cook for myself are these. Delicious, particularly when you completely coat them with Smoked Paprika - recipe to follow soon, me thinks!

Let me know what your favourite things were this month! I hope you have had a great weekend and are looking forward to February... celebrations are needed now that the worst month is now over! Have a good week!
Becky xx
