FAREWELL 2015...


AND Hello 2016... it's actually madness how quickly this last year has gone! In my 19 before 19 bucket list update post I told you that I had indeed been keeping a 'positivity' jar for 2015; I've found it to be one of the best ways to put little trinkets and memories away in order for me to keep track of what I've been up to. I've been scouring through all of them when I discovered a note of what my 3 resolutions for this year were so I thought I'd share with you how I think I did and what my resolutions for 2016 are!

1. Be more organised and plan ahead

Okay, so I mean I'm still not the neatest person on the planet - just ask my parents or flat mates - but I do think I was a lot more organised when it came to revision for my A levels! I've definitely had to be more organised since starting university in terms of when I'm going to shop, cook, do work, do societies etc. and my planning skills are becoming a lot better, so whilst I may need a little help when it comes to tidiness, I think this one has been a success!

2. Never stop pushing myself and do things for myself rather than for others
I have completed a lot of challenging things this year, both physically and mentally - all of which I'd consider a huge success in terms of the first half of this one. The latter part was something that I really thought I needed to embrace and it certainly has come hand in hand with growing my self confidence. Everyone worries about what other people think from time to time but I wanted to be someone where that only happens less than 25% of the time and I feel like I'm certainly getting there. I'm a lot happier about myself as a person and I think that has come from everything that I've managed to achieve this year!

3. Try to make a difference
The obvious thing to mention here would be my year-long charity fundraiser that I'm sure you're all a little bored of hearing about - giving up something different each month to raise money for Cancer Research, MindUK and Little Haven's Hospice certainly wasn't easy but the motivation came from knowing how worthy all 3 causes were! On a slightly smaller scale, I've tried to be a more positive person - renowned for being a fairly 'glass half empty' kind of gal, I think trying to spread happy vibes has definitely made me see the better side of life (the majority of the time) - in a year full of horrible things to happen around the world, I think this is such an important one to continue doing whilst looking ahead!

A little deep and emotional post (that wasn't fully intended, so apologies!) but definitely an important one!
