Red Lip, Classic OOTD

I love doing outfit posts, but going to school and wearing a uniform doesn't make for good, regular posts, and when I do wear my own clothes at the weekend I'm usually in far too much of a rush to take some snaps of my OOTD! However, I almost forced my brother into taking a couple of photos of what I wore on Saturday to work, purely because I just loved the simplicity of the shirt and jeans paired with the bold lip, my beloved Kate Spade and one of my favourite necklaces of the moment.
At this time of year when we transition into spring/summer, I always find it difficult to decide what to wear. Thin layers are usually my go to and this weekend was no exception; I could get away with no coat or jacket and could show off this gorgeous off-white chiffon blouse to my heart's content. These Jeans have had a lot of loving and whilst they're a little too long (short, curvy girls tell me where's best to buy jeans please!!), I love the colour of them - they're the perfect blue for pretty much any outfit!
For shoes I kept the "classic" look going by opting for some lovely deep tan leather loafers that were a bargain from New Look a couple of years ago; they don't just look good, but are also seriously comfortable! My other accessories were my blush pink Kate Spade bag that I got for my birthday (and also wore in my New Years Eve outfit post here) that I adore for it's practicality but chicness that it brings to almost any outfit. As well as these, my favourite feather charm Topshop necklace of the minute was of course featured (for a better look you can see it on my Instagram here, as I completely forgot to do close ups!)

My make up look was fairly simple and I used my L'oreal La Palette nude to tie in the blush-pink tones of the bag with my eyeshadow, but everything else was kept to a minimum so that my Burberry Kisses lipstick in Military Red could be the star of the show (see my review here). I actually came up with this outfit so that I could wear this lip product because I've fallen more and more in love with it - it's the perfect formula and shade of red for spring!

I hope you love this outfit as much as I do - sometimes I have to remind myself that less colour can be more! Have a lovely week...

  1. Love that blush pink coloured bag, i thought it was some luxury brand, I was surprised to find it to be from marks and spencer!
    Was it rather affordable? :)
    Lovely outfit!

    1. Thank you! Oh no, sorry if I didn't make myself clear enough - it's from Kate Spade so was rather pricey but so worth it! My blouse and jeans were both from M&S though and weren't too badly priced :) xx

  2. You look so lovely! I find it so hard to pull off a shirt/blouse type top but you look great.

    1. Thank you so much! I love mine, but rarely find time to wear it as I wear similar blouses to school! I think a pair of jeans like these make it work though, and you can never go wrong with a bold lip either ;) x
