What's New in my Make Up Bag

Hello lovely people! For some reason I've been really excited about writing this post for while, and I'm not entirely sure why. I've been feeling rather spend recently and so I thought I'd show you what's new in my make up bag with a little bit of a review/first impressions! I realise some of these goodies you will have already seen but they're still new to me (within the last month or so) and I thought I ought to include them and give them a little more air time...
MAC Cremesheen lipstick in Creme Cup - my first MAC lipstick hasn't been a disappointment! A moisturising lipstick that gives the loveliest tint of colour to the lip or can be built up to give a near opaque soft pink shade. I love it for day and night and it's pretty much cemented itself in my go-to lipsticks pile! Swatches and more info are included in my Trio of nude lip products post here...

NYX butter gloss in Creme Brûlée - a gorgeous everyday nude gloss that smells lovely, is extremely pigmented and is becoming a solid favourite. So much so it was also part of my 3 favourite nude lip products of the moment!

Bare Minerals Moxie lipstick in Make Your Move - having had a few post issues, I finally received my goodies from Josie over on FashionMumblr and I was disappointed. I got three things, including this gorgeous nude-brown lipstick that makes me feel a little Blair Waldorf (can you tell I'm still obsessed with Gossip Girl?!). It feels moisturising on your lips whilst giving a pigmented wash of colour; although I'm not sure how much wear I'm going to get out of this, I know it will be useful at some point, and for £1 for a Bare Minerals product, how could I have resisted?
Clinique Blended Face powder in Snowflake Dreams (no longer available) - this soft shimmery pink blush is unlike one I've owned previously. A loose powder, the finish it gives is lovely and is perfect for the winter transition into spring as it gives a dewy, frostbitten look; however if you do somehow manage to get your mitts on this, be warned, tap excess off before applying!
Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel eyeliner in Chocolate shimmer ink - I got this from Josie as well and although I've only swatched it, the consistency seems great, the colour definitely has me written all over it (a sparkly dark brown) and boy was it difficult to get off of from the back of my hand! Will keep you updated!

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk - I've wanted a white shadow to test out the theory of making shadows brighter and more vibrant for a long time, and this seemed like the perfect thing to try it with! Affordable, blend able and does make a difference - I love using this as almost like a primer as it stops creasing and makes my shadow last longer!

L'oreal Superliner Black Lacquer Waterproof - a gorgeous eyeliner that I've used a couple of times. I've been lusting after this for a while and when I saw that L'oreal not only had a 2 for £14 deal in boots but also a waterproof formula, I knew I had to have this! This creates a crisp neat line that even for eyeliner noobs like me, you can achieve something rather effective - bad winged liner be gone!

Benefit Roller Lash mascara (out on the 12th of February)- Having not been a massive fan of They're Real for volume, which is what I look for in a mascara, I was dubious about this one. However when I started to read into the product, like the fact it has small hook like parts on the wand as well as the standard spikes to drag and maintain your curl (hence the name roller lash as it's inspired by hair rollers), this has been getting rave reviews. So of course naturally I had to get my hands on it - when mum came home with an Elle Magazine and this cute sample sized one for me, I was over the moon. This is fab - I will certainly be buying this when it comes out!
L'oreal La Palette Nude Rose - This seems to have taken over the blogosphere in the past couple of weeks and when I was kindly nudged by the woman in boots that, although it wasn't meant to be, it was coming up as part of the 2 for £14 deal, I had to get it! Again I haven't had a chance to really play with this yet, but the colour swatches were extremely pigmented and didn't seem chalky... only time will tell for this one - I can just sit and admire it for now!
Nanshy Make Up Sponge* - a newly found staple for beauty tools, this sponge is seriously good at blending in concealer, particularly under the eye where I find it creases. For a full review, click here!

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer - having bought this with some Christmas vouchers, it's safe my skin on countless occasions and whilst it may be a little more effort than my cheap and cheerful Collection concealer, this is industrial strength, high coverage stuff. Patted onto the blemish with a brush and the idea that  you can change the tone of your concealer for each part of your face using the two colours, it's definitely a must for a flawless base!

So there you have it, my new additions that are now in my ever growing make up collection. I really do need to get some decent storage for it, so if anyone has any recommendations do let me know! Have a good week, see you back here on Thursday!
Becky xx

  1. Yey someone that doesn't like They're Real like me :) When I tell people that I don't like they can't believed it -.-

I like the look of the L'Oreal Palette, I will be hoping you'll do a review about it soon! :) xx

    1. Haha! I just don't think it's the best mascara ever, just average! Of course I will... Just need to have a bit more of an experiment with it first. It is beautiful though!
