Top 14 Beauty Products of 2014

Hello everyone, and Happy New Year! I'm looking forward to 2015 with a lot of excitement and apprehension, and I can't wait to share some of it with you... however, I've got one last post about last year (that feels so weird to write): my favourite beauty products of 2014!

Skincare
Sanctuary 5 minute Thermal Face mask - clay masks are always my favourite, but this beauty self heats and makes your skin feel super clean, detoxed and relaxed. An all round face mask winner!

Liz Earle Toner - having repurchased this for the 3rd time the other day, I can safely say this is my favourite toner I've tried. An in-between product for price (it's about £13), it certainly delivers, removing any excess make up before moisturising and I love the refreshing effect it gives my skin.

The Body Shop Cleansing Oil - a product that has had quite a bit of hype in the past year, I thought it was time I tried it when I went to place my order online (find out what else I bought here), and boy am I impressed. Easy and hygienic to dispense, I find just two pumps is enough to remove my make up well and it certainly has taken A LOT of hassle away when trying to remove mascara, including waterproof formulas!

Brushes
Real Techniques Buffing Brush - another hyped product in the beauty world, I've had this for well over a year and not a day when I'm wearing make up goes by without me reaching for this. It has started to look a bit tired, but I doubt I will opt for anything else when the sad time comes of replacing it.

E.l.f Blush Brush - this brush is surprisingly versatile and I often take this for all of my cheek make up if I'm limited on space and can't take my RT contour brush as well. A soft brush that applies product in a lovely way, it certainly is my ideal brush that looks a lot like brushes from higher end brands, without breaking the bank.

Make Up
Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector in 01 - I promise I'll stop banging on about this soon as I realise I've mentioned it A LOT, but I just love it! Perfect formula for me with a taste that is beyond divine, I think this is my new HG lip product, and that's saying something (as you'll soon realise when you read what's coming up below!)

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - every time I need a new concealer I always say to myself that I should try something new, but I just can't help that this ends up being in my basket! I've just bought it in fair and have fallen in love with it even more as it works wonders under the eyes to cover dark circles yet brightens to fake the "I've definitely had 10 hours sleep" look.

Revlon Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya - my go to Summer lip product, this is not only moisturising, the colour is something different to what I'd have gone for as I'm not really an orange lip kind of gal. But that's what's so good about these: they allow you to experiment with colours you may not have opted for, whilst being subtle, yet easily build able.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette - My go to palette for nights out, the choice of shades is lovely and the formula is one of the best I've tried, plus their lasting power is wonderful! I'm so glad my friends bought this for me for my birthday and is now one of my prized possessions...

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine lipstick in 05 - I love the colour, formula and finish this gives! I often change my mind between whether I prefer matte or glossy finishes, but this lipstick is now my go to whenever I need a pop of colour without drying my lips out. What's more, the packaging is so divine and sleek, it's definitely one of my new found loves when it comes to make up!

E.l.f Cool Bronzer Compact - Another of the constantly mentioned products, this product never fails to let me down. I love the two bronzing shades and blush a large amount, purely because they look great for everyday and on special occasions, just don't get too excited about the highlighter! Having said this, it's perfect to chuck in your handbag, travel bag or clutch bag...

Urban Decay Subversion Lash Primer - this gives you big bold lashes that perfect any night out look without the hassle or worry of false lashes, which makes it ideal for me and my lazy ways! I know some people use lash primer on a day-to-day basis, my lashes would hate me for it and so would my bank balance; however this really is a brilliant product and has certainly converted me!

Rimmel Lip Liner in East End Snob - having lusted after the Charlotte Tilbury products for so long, when I discovered this was a dupe for her lip cheat in Pillow Talk, I knew I had to try it, especially as it's around £3! As well as looking amazing under lip products (like the Clarins lip perfector), this looks great on it's own and really does give your lips a plumping effect - this is one product I know I'll continue to repurchase for a long time!

Tanya Burr lip gloss in Afternoon Tea - I have two of Tanya's lip glosses, but for me Afternoon Tea pips Picnic in the Park to the post ever so slightly, purely because for me it' more wearable all year round and so I've used it more. I realise I've mentioned more lip products here than I could ever wear in one day, but this is perfect when you fancy something natural with a bit more pigmentation than your standard gloss!

So there you have it, my top 14 products of 2014... let's see where 2015 takes us! Have a lovely week, and I'll see you next Monday for an almost back to normal schedule (I'm now posting every Monday and Thursday!)
