Festival Make Up: V Fest!

Hello! It feels like forever since I last blogged (I think that's a mixture of tiredness, an adrenaline downer and the fact that I actually haven't written a more lengthy post for a while - my last post was a high end beauty wishlist!)

To some, this may seem a bit late, but I know now that this look was tried and tested over the weekend as I went to V festival! I found this look not only fitted in with the theme of a 'festival' well, it lasted a long time and concealed the horrendous spots that decided to make an appearance on Friday...

Okay, so I think I underestimated the power of the primer (I mean I mentioned it in my Summer beauty essentials post here, but I just hadn't properly tested it!!) - this stuff is seriously amazing: not only did it make my foundation AND concealer stay on for some crazy raving, and it was still in tact a good 11/12 hours later, but it also made my skin feel lovely and soft. I also used the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour foundation as, because the name suggests it has staying power, I assumed it would be ideal... which it was. It not only provided a good coverage, it also didn't feel cakey and has an SPF in it. I opted for the blogging cult classic of the Collection 2000 concealer and topped it off with the Rimmel Stay Matte powder in translucent; both of which are products I opt for on a day to day basis anyway!

My trusty MUA palette in Undress Me Too got me through the weekend, as even when I forgot to use my e.l.f. eyeshadow powder yesterday, my shadow lasted the same amount of time as it did on Saturday! I opted for a subtle bronze/gold/brown look, with a bit of winged liner using the Benefit They're Real Push Up liner (read my review here) which did not budge and was pretty quick to apply, too. For my lashes I just curled them using my random pair of eyelash curlers and then 2 coats of the Maybelline The Falsies waterproof mascara.

For my cheeks, I wanted something just subtle as I knew I was using UV paint, so I just swirled my brush around my e.l.f blusher/bronzer/highlight compact and applied to the apples of my cheeks - I then just took a small amount of the lighter brown shade and put this in the hollows of my cheeks and around the temple for some extra colour (as the foundation is a little light for me at the moment!). For my lips I just wore the Vaseline Rosy Lips lip balm, which I bought because it had SPF in it, which was easy to reapply and gave a hint of colour!

Tee & Flower Crown are both from Primark
To add a bit more of a festival vibe, we used a bit of pink UV neon paint which I'd bought last September for a friend's UV party (there are loads of inexpensive tubes on amazon) and just applied it with a lip brush! If you don't want to apply that, then I would just bold up the eye make up by adding a pop of colour (blue always works well) be it through eye liner or the inner corner!

I hope you have a good rest of the week, I'm off to laze around some more and build up my energy again!

Becky xx

    1. Thank you! I kept it basic so I could do the UV paint!! And it's lovely isn't it? It's a shame I can't wear it more haha x
