My week in pictures #1

Having just got back from a holiday in Norfolk, I thought I'd share with you my week in pictures!

We stayed in a lovely house/cottage down Peddars Way in Holme-next-the-sea, which was really cute and modern and we weren't far from the sea or Tesco: ideal location if you ask me!

Burnham Market
On the Sunday we went to Hoste Arms in Burnham Market for Sunday lunch. If you share the fish assiete with someone, like I did, then I don't suggest you have a main, it's pretty big! I made the massive mistake of not taking pictures of the food, which I'm pretty gutted about considering how lovely it was!

After the meal we visited an amazing shop, (I bought the sign at the top of this post there), but what's fantastic is the upstairs hat shop! Oh my word, it was stunning...

There's also a Jack Wills practically next door to the pub, for all you JW shoppers!!

The White Horse, Holme-next-the-sea
On Monday my parents "popped back home" (I know!!) for a wedding so my brother and I were on Grandparent duty. Having decided to go out for lunch, we went to the White Horse which was the pub down the road: the tuna steak was lovely!

We then went to the Norfolk Wildlife Trust near our cottage, which was great because there was a disabled access for my Nan! Here's the beach...

The Lifeboat Inn, Thornham
This is one of the two Marco Pierre White restaurants in the area (we visited the other last night)... The food was lovely, other than the steak and ale pie, which both my nan and mum said was too salty! Unfortunately my dad also had red wine spilt on him and after much discussion we did get the bottle for free... Even so, it's still not a perfect situation!!

Wells-next-the-sea
On Wednesday we went to Wells-next-the-sea, where we had classic fish and chips  and ice cream! I recommend Platten's fish and chip shop and Johns rock ice cream shop (particularly their blueberry and blackberry ice cream as I still can't have chocolate 😭).

The Chequers inn (previously the Old Coach house)
As it was my parents' wedding anniversary on Thursday, we went out again last night (I think I must have put on about 3 stone this week!!)

P

Having only changed it's name a week last Wednesday, the menu had changed so now it's just an Italian (which was a shame as I'd read their scallops had been good!). For dessert, I had strawberries with black pepper and prosseco; strange but it works!

Yesterday morning we went to Thornham Deli, from several recommendations, this HAD to be good... And it was! I had the most gorgeous poached eggs with smoked salmon and the full English was pretty good too!

Have a lovely Easter weekend... Fingers crossed for a bank holiday with good weather!

Becky xx
