2014 trends: S/S

What to expect this season...

Pastels

Pastels are some of my favourite colours: they're girly, feminine and just make everything look pretty. You can mix this trend with several different things, including florals, monochrome or especially pink tonals to calm the "orchid" pinks that are also on trend down.
Missguided is always one for a good fashion spot, and this pretty pastel skirt is so pretty for only £19.99

This jumper is perfect for pastels. New Look, £14.99

This pretty pastel checked dress from Boohoo.com would look so lovely for spring/summer

Boxy or shift tops and blouses

These have been slowly becoming more and more fashionable and I think they can look super effective with a pair of skinny trousers or tucked into a skater skirt for a day to night outfit.
At only £10, I think this checked boxy tee from Boohoo.com is such a great bargain
This trend can be made more formal by opting for a more blouse like top like this one from Missguided, £14.99

Monochrome

For about the millionth season running, monochrome is still running strong particularly when involved in a striped piece. I love the classic silhouettes that are starting to appear using monochrome pieces, H&M are an excellent example of this.
These trousers from H&M are ideal for summer outfits. £24.99

This gorgeous tailored monochrome jacket from Topshop is a bit pricey at £55 but I just love it!
I have always loved retro themed patterns and they are finally on a come back. Combine the two trends by buying this gorgeous retro top from Forever 21 for only £12.75
Other trends include knitwear, florals and cropped jackets - most of which are combined in shops with one of the above trends. I look forward to seeing some of these out and about, and I hope I have given you some inspiration for this season's wardrobe
